Advent…nearly!

dear diary,

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…”, well it’s no surprise is it? Not even two weeks to go and we will celebrate the first Advent Sunday. I can’t wait as I loooooove Christmas and everything that comes with it, except it won’t be quite the same this year as we are going to be in South Africa walking around in shorts and T-shirts. I am not sure how I will feel, I am sure it will be a bit strange to a: Not be at home and b: being in approximately 30C. Well, I’ll let you know on my return how it all went!

In the meantime I will enjoy the run up to it all, I have already been busy preparing and hosting one Christmas workshop, with another to run next weekend.

This year I wanted to stick with the traditional red, green and white for the project, so I ordered in a lot of lovely Rowan Creative Focus Worsted…

as well as a lot of other little goodies…

and set to it. Soon I was knitting up a real Christmas treat…

…incorporating some short row shaping and knitting a star all in one piece. After felting and adding some finishing touches…

…cute don’t you think ?

After adding some finishing touches including some beautiful ribbon, drum-roll please…

We have our uuuuhhhh-aaaahhhh moment!!! A beautiful Christmas Wreath to hang on the front door on the first Advent Sunday welcoming all our visitors. 🙂
