Happy third Advent everyone! Only two more weeks and Christmas is upon us. Is is just me, or are the days flying passed at some super-sonic speed? So many things still to do, and so little time left to do them in! Zillion’s of projects still to finish, and my mind is already racing ahead planning new ones…I really must slow down a bit and work on something purely for my own pleasure. But before I do that, let me tell you about this weeks give-away.
Remember the Spring Shawl? This is a design I did a little while ago as a free pattern during my time as a Scheepjes blogger. This week I am giving away the yarn to make one for yourself, because even though it is called the Spring Shawl, it’s really an all year round favourite.
The give-away consists of one ball Scheepjes Invicta Colour in shade 967 and one ball Scheepjes Invicta Extra in shade 1347, the only other thing you need is the pattern which you can download directly from here for free. The shawl is a quick and relaxing knit with a shape that is versatile enough to wear in many different ways.
To enter just subscribe to my blog and leave a comment telling me what it is you like about shawl knitting. This give-away is open to anyone anywhere in the world, providing your postal system is reliable enough to receive the package. The winner will be announced next Sunday.
Hello my lovelies, how are you all? Still enjoying the warm summer weather I hope.
I am so happy that I can finally introduce my latest design to you, I hope you like it as much as I do? Inspired by my love for all things vintage and using beautiful Scheepjes Catona yarn, the piece is made up of thirty seven separate pieces. There are five different motifs and seven different shades of this super beautifully soft 100% cotton yarn.
Yarn usage is kept to a minimum with the availability of the Scheepjes Catona Yarn in super handy 25g balls, one ball in each shade will make the complete table piece measuring just under 60 cm in diameter. The shades I used are 101, 130, 172, 238, 248, 257 and 263, but if brighter colours are more your thing don’t worry, there are 69 shades available to choose from.
Why not get yourself organised and have your yarn ready for next week when I will be posting instruction on how to make each of the motifs, you can choose your colours here.
This will be an absolutely FREE pattern download, so make sure to check back next week.
Well, the cute little 25g balls have shrunk quite a bit as I have been very busy making them into lots of beautiful little crochet motifs. Just a few to make, ends to sew in and then assembly can begin.
Please stop by next week for the big Tah-Dah moment, I would love to share that with you!
After a lovely evening with yummy food, a good night sleep and a hearty breakfast, we checked out of our hotel and were soon whisked away to beautiful De Paalkoepel, a lovely cafe by a large lake just outside Groningen.
Cake was sampled, and as it was World Wide Knit in Public Day, we all got our knitting or crochet out and joined in the fun. Even ‘the boss’ tried his hands at crocheting a granny square! Ideas were exchanged, new plans made and projects planned. Sadly, all good things come to an end all too quickly, and before we knew it we had to say good bye.
It has been a busy week and I am feeling exhausted but elated at the same time. Lots to think about moving forward, it will take a few days to digest it all.
I leave you with a photo I took at Groningen station, multi storey parking of a different kind!
The excitement was becoming almost unbearable as pick up time got nearer! Luckily the drive to Scheepjes HQ was short and soon there was a buzzing sound of about fourteen women chatting. Some of us had met before, but for me it was almost all new faces and new surroundings. We had an exciting first day and I won’t (or can’t) tell you too much. I let the photo’s speak for themselves.
It may well be hot outside, but I can feel a little stranded knitting slipping from my fingers later!
