Hello lovely people, I hope this post finds you well and you all had a good week…
Here at Made with Loops it’s been a busy time. The week was filled with excitement (University acceptance for ‘my girl’), a visit to a small yarn fair, and a very exciting new joint venture. This is still a little hush-hush, but I hope I can tell you more very soon.
Today I want to introduce Braith…
Braith, meaning freckled in the Welsh language, is my latest shawl design. A simple, yet stylish eyelet shawl of shallow depth, extremely user friendly, and providing many ways of wearability.
The shawl offers ample opportunities to play with yarn, and can be uniquely yours depending on the amount and weight of yarn you choose to use. The simple eyelet pattern is a perfect introduction to lace knitting, or offers a relaxing project for the more seasoned knitters amongst you. The choice to add the crochet border is entirely your own, as the shawl will look good with or without it.
I knitted the sample shown using Madelinetosh Sock, a 100% Superwash Merino Yarn. This yarn is super soft and I used just one hank at 100g/360m for the shawl. Knitted with a 3.25mm needle the shawl measures 160cm long x 27cm deep.
Braith is the sort of shawl that will become a trusted friend. The sort of accessory that comes in handy when you don’t want anything to thick and bulky, but need a little something just to keep the chill off, or need to pep up an outfit.
The shawl pattern is now available as a Pdf download from my Etsy shop, so why not use up some of that yarn from your stash and get knitting your very own version of this little beauty.
Mine has become a very firm favourite already and will be hopping on a plane to Barcelona on Monday, so watch this space for some photos next.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
