celebration give-away

My little blog is two years old this week!!!

I can hardly believe it, but this week sees the second anniversary of Made with Loops. This morning I checked my diary to make sure I have in my head all important items for this week, and there it was…a circled entry reading:”Blog – 2nd anniversary!”.

From humble beginnings writing the first post in April 2012, this little space of mine has evolved into a place where I share my many studio moments with you, as well as traveling adventures and many other snippets from my life, sometimes important and other times totally trivial. During the past two years I have met many like minded people, have made many new friends, and this little creative place of mine couldn’t exist without all of you lovely and faithful followers.

So, I am thinking these celebrations need a little something to spruce them up…

…yes they do…

To celebrate two exciting years of yarn adventures I will have a yummy scrummy give-away feast…

…here is what you can win:

2 x 50g each of Debbie Bliss Prima in blue and turquoise – this is 80% Bamboo/20% Merino Wool – plus

2 x 50g of Louisa Harding Mariposa – 52% Viscose/48% Cotton – plus

Easy Crochet Flowers by Nikki Trench – 30 projects to make for your home and to wear

Well,…what do you think?

Would you like to be in it to win it?

Here is what you have to do:

crochet mood blanket 2014 and a give away

dear diary,

The other week I very briefly talked about taking part in a crochet along organised by a friend of mine on Instagram. Even though I am not involved in the organising of this crochet along, I still wanted to give something back to this amazing group event, and after some deliberation I decided to start an on-line record of my mood blanket, consisting of photos and story for each week’s square and patterns that I have used.

I have created a dedicated menu button, with drop down’s for photos and patterns, at the top menu bar of this blog. This is where you can find my mood blanket story and also some of the patterns I will be using to make my squares. I will add to it on a weekly basis, so please feel free to visit and use this as re-source for your own squares if you wish.

Made with Loop’s Give Away!

To celebrate the start of a new creative year I have decided to throw a give away party this week!

To take part, all you have to do is subscribe to this blog via e-mail and leave a comment on this post telling me why you would like to win (don’t forget to include your e-mail address). The winner will be picked by a random number generator on Friday 17 January.

The prize: Anna Bag from Lola Loop’s 2013 book. A bright and cheerful bag knitted using Rowan Handknit Cotton. Nautical stripes in classic colours, set off by a sharp green top and gorgeous red leather handles, the bag is lined with cotton fabric and padded for stability, making it the perfect companion to carry all your essentials right through summer. To continue the summer nautical mood, you will also receive three brass and enamel bangles as shown in the top photo.

…and as if this isn’t exciting enough… as a surprise I’ll throw in a beautiful hank of yarn!!

So what are you waiting for…

I look forward to reading your replies! x

Book Launch

dear diary,

You know how much I like a challenge! An idea that has been in my head for a while, to publish a series of books offering a selection of small designs, is finally coming to fruition. I thought long and hard about how best to publish, in print or on-line, but as I am a great believer in simple solutions I have decided to go the on-line route first…

…and so it is that I can announce with greatest pleasure, that the first book in the Lola Loops series is being launched on Wednesday 7th November 2012 at noon UK time. It will be available to download on this website and on Ravelry from that day.

I am quietly excited about sharing Lola’s knitting adventures with you and hope you will like the things she has been making as much as I do. To make the launch a little more exciting I am giving away an extra pattern design to the first five people who purchase the book from this website. Watch out for the next post tomorrow when I will explain how it works 🙂
