first of all I want to apologise to anyone who tried to read posts here last Monday (16 Oct.) and found that all you got was a message saying ‘unavailable’ and ‘not allowed‘ – the people behind the scenes, where all the pictures and words are stored, had lost everything and it took them a while to find it all and put it back. All back to normal now, but a few very unnerving hours for me as you can imagine.
Happier times this week, as yesterday I had the pleasure of teaching a crochet workshop at Emma’s farm – The Little Grey Sheep – and what a pleasure it was.
Five lovely ladies joined myself and Emma for a flower power day of crochet happiness!
Everyone was given eight hanks of beautiful Hampshire DK yarn and plenty of other goodies to make the day memorable. Yummy food and lashings of tea and coffee helped sustain us throughout the day and Emma was the best host anyone could wish for.
A lot of hard work and concentration was put into the day by all my students and at times you could hear a needle drop, but there was also a lot of laughter as we shared funny stories the way only women can.
As a little surprise I had prepared a special pattern for them to make with all their leftover yarn…
…it went down a treat 🙂
Days like these are over way too quickly and before we knew it it was time to say farewell and be homeward bound. Just one last photo to show off everyones makes and a lot of happy smiley faces.
Come and join me at Well Manor Farm for a fun and informative day learning about colour and crochet. The day will be held in a beautiful newly built, wonderful oak framed barn looking out over the sheep pastures.
Well Manor farm is the home of The little grey Sheep and is set within 300 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside. This is where shepherdess Susie nurtures, manages and shears the flock of sheep, and Emma spends endless hours in the dyeing shed transforming the fibre into the most delicious shades of colour.
Using the Flower Power cushion pattern, designed especially for The little grey Sheep, as your project, you will be guided through each step of completing the cushion. I will be on hand to help you through your first few squares and you will be able to take your kit away to finish at home.
There might even be an opportunity to meet the sheep weather permitting.
What’s included in the workshop:
A Flower Power kit containing enough The Little Grey Sheep Yarn to make two cushions plus the pattern. (Cushion Pad not included can be bought separately on day)
A copy of The little grey Sheep’s latest Sticka magazine including many beautiful patterns.
A tasty home made lunch and afternoon cake, as well as lashings of tea and coffee throughout the day.
Making sure that you can use every last strand of your beautiful yarn I have also designed a Flower Power Tea Cosy and matching doily, and you will receive the instructions on how to make these items as a bonus pattern on the day.
All we ask is that you have a basic understanding and ability of crochet.
Come and join Emma, myself and other like minded people for a fabulous and fun filled day learning new skills and making new friends.
