fabulous friday follies – 5

Hello friends, how is it all with you? Good I hope…

I have been working hard to get my new Etsy shop, the Made with Loops Bazar, perfectly up and running. It takes a while to get it looking just the way one wants, but I think I am slowly getting there. Have you had a look yet? What do you think? I’d be really grateful for some feedback.

Today I would like to introduce two patterns to you that are brand new in the shop.

Haf Socks still 1

You know my love of sock knitting by now, and it will come as no surprise therefore, that my first introduction is a new sock design. These socks have a delicate lace pattern that can easily be achieved by knitters of all abilities. They are pretty enough to wear in open toed shoes and are simply perfect to put your best foot forward. I promise you…you will love them.

Meleri Tie still both

Meleri – Neckerchief

The second new design is a cute little Neckerchief. This little beauty bears no resemblance to the utilitarian versions worn by scouts and sailors. Quickly knitted in no more than a couple of evenings, this little frippery will jazz up any outfit and keep the chill off just as evenings turn a little colder. I have made a few using different types of DK yarn, silk for beautiful sheen and drape and soft Alpaca for extra warmth. These make great little gifts…think birthdays or even Christmas (it’s really not that far away)…start planning early!

Both these patterns are now available in the shop, as well as some gorgeous new yarns just perfect for these two designs. You can have a little browse just here.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, I hope the sun is shining wherever you are.

Enjoy! X.

a few new things

Hello my lovelies…I am back home! Well, I have been back for a few days, working hard on some long overdue changes to this, my creative space in cyberland…

The biggest change is the way I sell all those lovely Made with Loops goodies. Everything will now be sold directly via my brand new Etsy shop. I used to have all sorts of problems selling patterns via this blog. It was often very challenging to sort out all those technical issues, hopefully everything will run smoothly from now…fingers crossed.

As well as my patterns, you can find other lovely things in this new little Bazar of mine…

Yarn 1

…it’s a work in progress, so please be gentle and patient with me. There are various links on here for you to get to the Bazar directly, one is in the Menu bar at the top, and then there are a couple of links in the sidebar. Whichever way you prefer, I hope you will take a little look and let me know what you think, any requests are also very welcome.

Opening the Made with Loops Bazar also gave me the chance to have a little overall re-vamp of the blog, and I hope you like what I have done?

The other exciting bit of news I have to share: I have just officially launched the Sorbetto Shawl in Germany.

This is a co-production with my fabulously inspiring friend Claudia of Wollsin (www.wollsin.de). Claudia is the sort of friend who will enthusiastically involve herself in a creative idea and come up with the most amazing colour ways to support this. A master dyer and seller of Isager Yarns, she has come up with some fabulous colour combinations for the Sorbetto Shawl, which together with the pattern will be sold as a Shawl Kit via her website.

Should you not wish to purchase a whole kit, the pattern for the shawl is available in German and English at the Made with Loops Bazar.

I am really excited about this launch and hope Sorbetto will be loved on the German speaking market just as much as here.

There will be a few more bits of news in the coming few posts, so watch this space.

For today…I leave you with (from left to right):

Have you seen the amazing designs by Biljana Kovale on Etsy? Biljana is from Serbia and her eye for colour, combined with her unique style is awe-inspiring. Go and check out her shop here

I am totally in love with this yarn…it’s called Stone Washed by Scheepjeswol, a fabulous Dutch yarn brand finally available in the UK at online retailer Deramores. This is a great yarn for many projects, but I think it is absolutely perfect for blankets. The yarn is super soft, comes in eight beautiful shades, and is a total pleasure to work with.

I don’t know about you, but I am a real lover of items made from fabulous fabrics. I admire designers who have an eye for amazing colour and pattern combinations. A couple of weeks ago I came across just one of those talented designers when browsing online market place Dawanda.

Tanja from near Hamburg in Germany, originally a Graphic Designer and Illustrator, and now working as a freelance Textile & Print Designer, started label ‘Die Elberbsen’ in 2008. Her distinctive style using an eclectic mix of pattern and colour has made her a firm favourite of mine already. As well as selling ready made items you can also purchase the patterns to make yourself. Go and visit her here.

Friday Finds is the second of my new weekly posts, and I am really getting into the regularity of it all. I had never thought of planning my blog posts before, but the knowledge of what I am going to do when is comforting and stops me from having panicky days of thinking what to write about next.

I hope you will enjoy this ‘new me’ too!

Have a lovely weekend all.
