Worked over a multiple of 8 sts plus 2
FS (front slip) – Sl 1 p-wise and drop to back of work, k1, sl dropped st back on left needle and purl it.
BS (back slip) – Sl 1 p-wise and drop to front of work, p1, sl dropped st back on left needle and knit it.
Preparation row (WS): K1, *k3, p2, k3; rep. from *, ending k1.
Rows 1 & 3: P1, *p3, k2, p3; rep. from *, ending p1.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Knit the knit sts and slip the purl sts wyif.
Row 5: P1, *p2, FS, BS, p2; rep. from *, ending p1.
Row 7: P1, *p1, FS, p2, BS, p1; rep. from *, ending p1.
Row 9: P1, *FS, p4, BS; rep. from *, ending p1.
Rows 11 & 13: P1, *k1, p6, k1; rep. from *, ending p1
Row 15: P1, *BS, p4, FS; rep. from *, ending P1
Row 17: P1, *p1, BS, p2, FS, p1; rep. from *, ending p1.
Row 19: P1, *p2, BS, FS, p2; rep. from *, ending p1.
Row 20: as row 2
Repeat rows 1-20.
