A simple pattern worked with blocks of garter and rib stitches where both sides of work look very similar. This fabric gives a slightly thicker feel, well suited to use for homeware such as blankets and cushions. A good sized square makes for great dish/face cloths too!
The stitch is worked over a multiple of 14 sts plus 7 sts.
Row 1 (RS): *K7, p1, [k1, p1] 3 times; rep. from * to last 7 sts, k7
Row 2: K7, *[k1, p1] 3 times, k8; rep. from * to end.
Rows 3-6: Repeat rows 1 & 2 twice.
Row 7: *P1, [k1, p1] 3 times, k7; rep. from *to last 7 sts, p1, [k1, p1] 3 times.
Row 8: [K1, p1] 3 times, k1, *k8, [p1, k1] 3 times; rep. from * to end.
Rows 9-12: Repeat rows 7 & 8 twice
When using this pattern it looks best if you stop your final repeat after row 6.
My personal preference is to use the wrong side as my right side.
