The last days of the year are suddenly upon us, how did that happen? Gifts are being wrapped, last minute shopping and food preparations are in full swing and some of you may have been lucky enough to escape on a well earned holiday.
2021 was by no means easy and the next few weeks probably won’t be either. I would like to thank you all for your loyalty, your inspiration and kindness during the past year. Thank you for following along, here on the blog and my other social media channels. Thank you for purchasing my patterns and sharing your photos with me. Thank you for taking the time to write to me or leaving a comment on my posts.
I like to share one last free pattern with you this year, my Christmas Twinkle Star Coasters.
You need some Cotton Yarn (I used Vinnis Colours Cotton) and a little lurex yarn for added sparkle.
4mm & 3mm Crochet Hooks and a darning needle.
UK Crochet Terms used.
Start by making a magic loop using 4mm hook and then work 6dc straight into the loop – ss to join and pull tight to close the ring.
Rnd 1: Ch3 (counts as tr), 1tr in same st, *3ch, 2tr in next st; rep. from * around – ss to join
Rnd 2: Ss to first 3ch-sp, 5dc in 3ch-sp and every 3ch-sp around – ss to join. Fasten off.
Rnd 3: Join new yarn between any 5dc group. *2ch, skip 2dc, [3tr, 3ch, 3tr] in next dc, 2ch, skip 2dc, dc in space between 5dc group; rep. from * around – ss to join.
Rnd 4: Work ss around complete star, making sure to work 2ss in 2ch-sp and 3ss in 3ch-sp. Fasten off.
With 3mm hook and Lurex Yarn, work surface ss around complete star. Fasten off and weave in all ends, block lightly.
Use single as coasters or make a few for a garland. Hope you enjoy!
All that remains for me to say is: I wish you a joyous and magical Christmas and a happy and healthy 2022!
Much love, Heike xo
