A Celtic Cowl

Dear Diary,

I love all history, but the Celts have long been a source of inspiring ideas. With intricate patterns and rich colours, as seen in Celtic manuscripts and stonework, the knot and diamond work lend themselves to endless possibilities in textured knitting.

I had been thinking about what to give you as my next FREE Loopy Pattern and also what little bit of yarn I could use from my Stash. I want these Free patterns to be quick and enjoyable to make, with just the right amount of interest and not using much yarn so that you can use up your stash.

As I recently gave my Studio a good old tidy up, I found these…

…100g of Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk Aran.

Being 80% Alpaca and 20% Silk this yarn is super soft with a slight sheen, perfect I thought for wearing close to the skin . Taking inspiration from said Celts and needing something to keep the autumn morning chills away, I give you the Celtic Cowl.

I hope you enjoy knitting this traditional, yet stylish cowl in one of this season’s key colours. Download FREE by clicking here.
