Hello friends, how has your week been? Good I hope!
It’s been a very busy and at times emotional week for us. Some of you might already know that last Friday ‘my girl’ was involved in a car crash. She was taken to hospital with suspected neck injuries, all very scary, but luckily she is ok.
Work has been very busy with me trying to finish all my design commissions before my upcoming trip to Denmark, I am slowly getting there.
Have you all got your yarn ready for today’s free pattern release of the table centre piece? If not you can purchase it here.
This project is a great way to try out Scheepjes new beautiful Catona yarn. All you need to make this eye-catching piece are 7 x 25g balls, and at an amazing 99p per ball, it won’t break the bank either.
So what are you waiting for…start by downloading the free pattern…click here!
Enjoy and have fun, and please share your photos on social media #catonatabledeco so that we can all admire your work.
Hello my lovelies, how are you all? Still enjoying the warm summer weather I hope.
I am so happy that I can finally introduce my latest design to you, I hope you like it as much as I do? Inspired by my love for all things vintage and using beautiful Scheepjes Catona yarn, the piece is made up of thirty seven separate pieces. There are five different motifs and seven different shades of this super beautifully soft 100% cotton yarn.
Yarn usage is kept to a minimum with the availability of the Scheepjes Catona Yarn in super handy 25g balls, one ball in each shade will make the complete table piece measuring just under 60 cm in diameter. The shades I used are 101, 130, 172, 238, 248, 257 and 263, but if brighter colours are more your thing don’t worry, there are 69 shades available to choose from.
Why not get yourself organised and have your yarn ready for next week when I will be posting instruction on how to make each of the motifs, you can choose your colours here.
This will be an absolutely FREE pattern download, so make sure to check back next week.
Well, the cute little 25g balls have shrunk quite a bit as I have been very busy making them into lots of beautiful little crochet motifs. Just a few to make, ends to sew in and then assembly can begin.
Please stop by next week for the big Tah-Dah moment, I would love to share that with you!
It’s no big secret that I love many of the Scheepjes yarns available, Stonewashed being one of my all time favourites. This summer however I have added three more Scheepjes yarns to my top ten list of yarns, Catona being one of them.
This 100% Mercerised cotton yarn is perfect for crochet projects as it comes in a breath-taking 69 (yes…69!!) colours. The top bonus of this yarn is that it is in 25g balls, so ideal for projects where you want to use little bits of lots of colours or for Amigurumi projects. The colour range is fantastic with rich jewel tones, soft pastels, bright summer shades and almost every neutral tone you can think of. Another added bonus: It perfectly coordinates with Catona Denim which has a subtle tone on tone dye.
I am also a great fan of design seeds, and together with ‘Pure Colour‘, the style sourcebook by Jane Cumberpatch, these often provide the inspiration for project ideas. I had been thinking of a crochet home project using the photos top & bottom on the right for a while, and when I saw that Scheepjes Catona had the perfect shades there was no stopping me…I put an order in straight away and can’t wait to get started.
I wonder if you can guess what I am making?
Stop by next week to find out and see the progress I have made.
I would love to have your company, as I will share the pattern at the end of this journey.
