Last weekend we travelled to Denmark, first stop Copenhagen…, and yes, the Grannies Folly basket came too.

What a vibrant and buzzing city, and so colourful. It’s easy to walk everywhere, zig-zagging the city to see as much as we could in the few days we had, I think we managed to take in most of it. The weather was kind to us, with the sun shining most of the time, and we were able to sample a lot of the Danish cuisine al fresco.

We were impressed by the wide avenues with amazingly little traffic, lined by large grand old houses, lots of green spaces and of course water water everywhere.

Our highlight was the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, a world class art museum with a huge selection of ancient Egyptian art, Greek and Roman sculptures, as well as a wealth of Danish paintings from what is known as the Golden Age (1800-50). This is also the home of The Little Dancer by Edgar Degas and many paintings by the French Impressionists.

We visited castles and churches and then there was only one place left for me to go…

…this yarn paradise (and there is no other word to describe it) came highly recommended by many, and it did not disappoint. I could have filled a few suitcases, but instead I was a very good girl…
