Easter Set WiP

Hello dear readers, how have you been? I hope you all had a great week.

I had a lovely time with my sister visiting, spending many hours catching up whilst drinking tea, eating cake and knitting…a lot!

Sadly, as always when having a lovely time, the week went by in a flash and my ‘little’ sis has gone back to Germany already (sad face!)

Even though we did a lot of knitting I didn’t get much time to work on my Easter Table set using my beautiful Scheepjes Larra and Lizzy yarns. I have made a good start though and really like the look and feel of it so far. Finger’s crossed I have it done by next week to show you the completed set in a proper Easter table setting.

Have a lovely weekend all!

Bloom Collage

Happy Thursday everyone! It’s a grey and very wet day here in North Wales, how has it been where you are? Better I hope!

I needed something to cheer me up! What better way than working with beautiful yarn in stunning fresh colours and hook in hand. This is what I came up with…I hope you like it? I am calling it “Bloom”, just like this gorgeous new yarn by Scheepjes.

Bloom is a soft unmercerised 100% Cotton Yarn. It is spun in a special way with a hollow core making it very light in weight, with absolutely no splitting. Perfect for blankets and other homeware, it works up pretty quickly using a 5mm hook, is washable at 40C and is available in a stunning array of 24 colours. Go and check it out here.

Today I like to share the pattern for this blooming pretty square with you. You could make a cushion, a blanket or even mix and match this raised square with my flat flower square, available here . The possibilities are endless, so let’s get started…

The lovely people at Scheepjes have done it again! Lot’s of new beautiful yarns in lush colours just in time for Spring & Summer. I have great pleasure introducing them to you here over the next weeks.

Today it is all about Soft Fun Denim. This is a 60% Cotton/ 40% Acrylic Yarn, super soft and light  it works up a treat. Perfect for all manner of Projects, but I like it especially for homewares as it is light and washes well at 30 C. As you can see it has a subtle colour variation like hand dyed yarn, it is available in eleven stunning shades and I have heard a little whisper that it will be available to order from Deramores in the next week or so.

To celebrate the launch of this beautiful addition to the Scheepjes family I am releasing my Flower Granny Square in Dutch today. Just click on the photo for a larger version to print out.
