Now you all know that I am surrounded by a small stash of yarn in my studio. I still have quite a few complete packs of yarn left from my time as a Rowan Design Consultant, including a few balls of this…

…and thinking of my forthcoming trip to the Swiss/French Alps, what better time than now to use this yarn and make something cosy and soft to keep me snug. Luckily I had also purchased the above book just recently and a couple of items caught my eye immediately.

The Albany shrug by Marie Wallin and Jester Snood by Lisa Richardson, and even though  I changed both patterns slightly, to better fit me and user-friendly wearability, I kept to the core of both designs in most parts.

The yarn knits up using 10 mm needles, making these quick projects that are easily achieved over a weekend, and the added bonus of watching a few Rugby Matches and the Olympics, meant that time passed very quickly.

I am very pleased with the result and feel quite chuffed that I have two beautiful new pieces to pack in my suitcase ready to hit the snow in 10 days time.

Just as the book says: ‘warm and toasty’ I will be…

I hope you are all having a lovely and relaxing…
