Today I was going to write a post and tell you all about the lovely family time I spent last week on holiday in Germany. This seams hardly a priority in the face of the very sad news I received at the weekend. So, today, I write to you with a heavy heart thinking of my creative sister Wink (a creative being blog), who saw no way out from the brink of depression and took her own life last Friday. She was a fellow Scheepjes blogger, an inspiration to many, always willing to share her wisdom with others; a creative soul that gave us many beautiful patterns.

For me, thinking of Wink means thinking of beautiful Mandala designs in stunning colours. She truly was a master of those and her colour selections were always vibrant. It saddens me deeply when I think how such a bright star in this wonderful world of crafting could have been so troubled to see no way out. To honour her memory and to raise awareness of this quiet illness that we cannot outwardly see, another amazingly generous and creative soul, Kathryn of www.crochetconcupiscene.com, is organising a collaborative #MandalasForMarinke over on her blog. Find all the details you need here.

Today is a sad day and my thoughts are with Marinke’s family and friends. Please join me in #wearingflowersinmyhairforwink by sharing photos on social media, showing our solidarity and to stand tall in the fight against depression.
