This weekend the weather really turned to ice and snow here in North Wales and the Log Burners in our house have been working overtime keeping us snug and toasty.

As well as enjoying brisk walks in the fresh winter air, I have had a little play with yarn and hook these past few days and here is the result. What do you think? Do you like it?

I know there are many flower granny squares out there, but I wanted to create something that reminded me of the Anemone Japonica Flowers in my garden in Summer.

I am really pleased with the way it has turned out and I would like to share the pattern with you. so here it is (UK Terms used)…

Spring Flower Square

I used Scheepjeswol Stone Washed for mine as I am totally hooked (excuse the pun!) on it and love the delicate colours.

I hope you will enjoy making your very own versions of my square, just click on the photo for a larger version that you can print.

Have fun and enjoy!

Oh, this is lovely – thank you so much! And such a treat to have a pattern in UK terms, too. I’ve been looking for a flower/granny pattern to make a blanket for my 3 year old, and this is perfect. So kind of you to make it free when I’m sure you could be selling it. Thanks again! xx
