dear diary,

The other week I very briefly talked about taking part in a crochet along organised by a friend of mine on Instagram. Even though I am not involved in the organising of this crochet along, I still wanted to give something back to this amazing group event, and after some deliberation I decided to start an on-line record of my mood blanket, consisting of photos and story for each week’s square and patterns that I have used.

I have created a dedicated menu button, with drop down’s for photos and patterns, at the top menu bar of this blog. This is where you can find my mood blanket story and also some of the patterns I will be using to make my squares. I will add to it on a weekly basis, so please feel free to visit and use this as re-source for your own squares if you wish.

Made with Loop’s Give Away!

To celebrate the start of a new creative year I have decided to throw a give away party this week!

To take part, all you have to do is subscribe to this blog via e-mail and leave a comment on this post telling me why you would like to win (don’t forget to include your e-mail address). The winner will be picked by a random number generator on Friday 17 January.

The prize: Anna Bag from Lola Loop’s 2013 book. A bright and cheerful bag knitted using Rowan Handknit Cotton. Nautical stripes in classic colours, set off by a sharp green top and gorgeous red leather handles, the bag is lined with cotton fabric and padded for stability, making it the perfect companion to carry all your essentials right through summer. To continue the summer nautical mood, you will also receive three brass and enamel bangles as shown in the top photo.

…and as if this isn’t exciting enough… as a surprise I’ll throw in a beautiful hank of yarn!!

So what are you waiting for…

I look forward to reading your replies! x

There are several reasons I’d like to win this giveaway…. The first is just because it’s fun to win! LOL! 😉 The second is I love to get free yarn, and the idea of yarn from ‘across the pond’ is especially intriguing! The third reason (and the last I’ll post) is that this week is my birthday and it seems like a neat birthday present.
Thanks for the giveaway, whether I win or not!

I love the bag and how it would suit the hot Australian summer! Reminds me of afternoons at the beach. Stuck inside today as the temperature soars to 44+ degrees Celsius. Too hot to go anywhere so I’m going to browse through your blog.

I started to following you on Instagram about a month ago. I decided to start crocheting as a way to occupy my down time and I’ve grown to love it! Now I’m crochetting everywhere all the time! I saw on my Instagram this purse and fell in love with it! It’s classy, yet it’s different, and it looks big enough to hold a spool of yarn!!! Lol

    Hey Heike!

First off, what a lovely idea to give something away like this! I would love to win because the bag is ridiculously cute. It reminds me so much of a summer holiday and just shows knitting is not all about those winter necessities. I have been following your crafting adventures for a while now on this blog and on Instagram (i’m megernwalker, if you remember!). I’ve been crocheting for 7 months now, but it was your Instagram that made me pick up the knitting needles and give it a go. I’ve been knitting for 3 days now and I **think** I’ve mastered the ‘knit’ stitch – it’s hard to tell though! Anyway, I feel I have rambled on for long enough now. I had no idea I could subscribe to your blog via email, so I’m very happy I have now! Take care,
    Megan x
