Happy, healthy and creative New Year to you all!

It’s been a quiet couple of weeks here in North Wales and I have enjoyed some precious time with my little family. We spent a lot of time outdoors making the most of some fabulous weather going for walks enjoying the beautiful Welsh mountains and coastline, and I indulged in some long overdue selfish ‘Me’ knitting.

Back to work today and I want to introduce you to the long awaited English version of our latest book…

I am so excited that we decided to have the second installment in our ‘little book’ series printed in English and I must admit a little happy dancing did take place on arrival of the books from the printers.

Surely there is nothing more fabulous than draping a soft warm hug around your neck and shoulders. Who doesn’t like the feel of luxurious fibres enveloping your body, giving that extra bit of warmth or simply finishing off an outfit giving it that special little ‘je ne sais quoi’.

Just like A little book of Sox, this was another WoolyLoops production, and just like the first book, it was a labour of love and a lot of fun was had by Claudia and myself.

#madewithloops.co.uk #alittlebookofshawls

In our first book, “A little book of Sox”, we dedicated each pattern to some of the world’s most dangerous mountains. In this second instalment in the “little book” series we decided to pay homage to some of history’s most notable and strong women. Each one of these women was a pioneer in her field and own right, and each one, we are sure, would have loved wearing one of our shawls. Shawls in all shapes and sizes – Some are knitted and some are crochet, there is a shawl for everyone.

Wirebound so it flips open and stays open whilst you work, full colour photographs and beautifully hand drawn pictures, this is not just a book, it also contains a section on Shawlology.

The English Book is available NOW – purchase directly via my Etsy Shop HERE

Be Inspired in South Africa

A shawl on your needles or hook is the comfort food of knitting/crochet. A shawl lets you forget about the rigors of gauge and always fits its wearer, whether it ends up an inch shorter or wider than intended. Works of art can be created with a little effort and a few basic materials and of course nothing makes a better gift than a hand knitted or crochet shawl – a virtual hug to the recipient with our carefully constructed stitches.

Happy knitting and crocheting!

This is my last post for 2016, and, as another year comes to a close, I would like to thank you all for your ongoing support of my little business.

Thank you for reading my ramblings here on this blog…

…thank you for buying my books and patterns…

…for leaving comments and staying in touch, here and via my other social media…

…thank you for participating in my workshops here in the UK and in mainland Europe…

…making the knitting retreats we host so successful and so much fun.

I could not do this without all of you, as working mostly on my own can get a little lonely at times. Your contributions keep me smiling, even when things seem a little tough and frustrating at times.

Happy second Advent lovely people!

Firstly a big thank you to everyone who entered last weekends give-away. This morning I used an online random number generator to pick the two winners. Many congratulations to Barbara Pankhurst and Annushka12, you have each won a copy of Sticka 2 and a 100g hank of Hampshire DK wool. I have sent you a personal reply and look forward to seeing what you make with the beautiful yarn in due course.

It’s been a very cold week here and every morning we have woken up to a frosty countryside. As I had surgery at the beginning of the week, I spent most of my days in bed, what better time to think up this weeks give-away!
